Starting Monday, Nov. 17, Tulane will join universities across the United States to celebrate International Education Week (IEW), commemorating Tulane's international community and the university's impactful global learning, teaching and research. This year's theme, "Convivencia: The Art of Building Global Community," reflects a shared commitment to dialogue, collaboration and connection across cultures.
Spearheaded by Tulane Global in collaboration with more than 20 schools and units across campus, the week will feature a dynamic lineup of events, including a keynote musical performance by Martha González, a MacArthur Fellow, Grammy-winning musician and cultural theorist.
On Monday, the week will kick off with an inaugural The Longest Table meal, where hundreds of Tulanians will share a single table on Berger Family Lawn, fostering relationships and engaging in meaningful conversations. On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Global Café will offer internationally-minded Tulanians a chance to unite and build global connections in an afternoon of engaging conversations, fun activities and free food while mingling with international students and globally-driven peers.
Language Day on Thursday, Nov. 20, will be a vibrant celebration of languages and cultures from around the world. Led by Tulane's Language Center and the School of Liberal Arts, where more than 16 languages are taught, Language Day is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange through an exciting lineup of activities, including international food, music and performances, games and tabling by many Tulane organizations and units fostering international education locally and abroad.
