Press Release: Hon. Bala Nanda Sharma, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to attend the State Funeral of Begum Zia in Dhaka
Hon. Bala Nanda Sharma, Minister for Foreign Affairs, is leaving today for Dhaka, Bangladesh, to attend the state funeral of former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party Begum Khaleda Zia and pay last respects on behalf of the Government and the people of Nepal.
The Foreign Minister's visit reflects Nepal's deep respect for the late leader's contributions to strengthening Nepal-Bangladesh relations during her three tenures as Prime Minister.
During the visit, Hon. Minister Sharma will be accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Foreign Minister is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on 01 January 2026.
