UPDATED TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR CONFLICT AREAS IN WEST ASIA

UPDATED TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR CONFLICT AREAS IN WEST ASIA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs refers to the travel advisory of 5 March 2026.

The two-week ceasefire announcement on 8 April 2026 has led to gradual improvement in the West Asia region, with limited reopening of air space and flight operations. In this connection, the Ministry wishes to provide the following advisory to Malaysians travelling to or residing in the region, including Malaysians performing Hajj:

i. to continue to exercise a high level of caution, avoid areas of military activity and public gatherings, and adhere to instructions issued by the authorities;

ii. to be well informed and prepared for flight disruptions, delays or sudden changes to travel arrangements;

iii. To facilitate timely consular assistance, Malaysians are urged to register and regularly update their contact details via the e-Konsular portal at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my. Additionally, Malaysians are highly encouraged to download the Ministry's MyWorldAlert application to receive localised consular updates and connect with the nearest Malaysian Diplomatic Mission during emergencies.

The Ministry will continue to monitor developments in the region closely, and will update this advisory as necessary. The safety and security of Malaysians remain the Ministry's highest priority.
