Ambassador Greer Issues Statement on Launch of Critical Minerals Negotiations

WASHINGTON - Today, Ambassador Jamieson Greer issued a statement following President Trump directing the U.S. Trade Representative and the Secretary of Commerce to negotiate agreements to address the threat posed to national security regarding imports of processed critical minerals and their derivative products from any country.

"It's no secret we need more resilient supply chains for critical minerals," said Ambassador Greer. "By negotiating with interested parties to create an economically viable market for critical minerals, we can promote demand for and boost the supply of critical minerals at home and with partner countries. Securing our minerals supply chains is a top priority for President Trump, and I look forward to bringing home a good deal."
