On August 27, 2026, Ambassador Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, gave an exclusive interview to Bloomberg, during which he elaborated on China's multilateral diplomacy, global AI governance, UN management reform, and other issues.
Ambassador Fu emphasized that the purpose of China's foreign policy is to safeguard world peace and promote common development. China has always practiced multilateralism, firmly upheld the international system with the United Nations at its core, and fully participated in efforts across the UN's three pillars of peace and security, development, and human rights. In recent years, China has put forward and worked to implement the four global initiatives, actively contributing Chinese solutions to major issues facing humanity. The purpose is to further strengthen the UN's position and role and promote a more just and equitable global governance system.
