The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following the case of a missing Italian citizen in St. Moritz

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of Italy in Zurich are following the case of Italian citizen Luciano Capasso, who has been missing since February 16 in St. Moritz during a mountain hike.

The Italian citizen had gone on a solo hike at 2,700 meters and was reportedly caught in a storm. Swiss authorities began the search, but it was suspended today due to adverse weather conditions.

The Foreign Ministry and the Consulate General in Zurich are in constant contact with the Italian citizen's family. Most recently, the Consul General in Zurich spoke by telephone with Luciano Capasso's brother and mother yesterday, and is now providing assistance to his other brother, who has been in Switzerland since last night to follow the situation.

From Rome, the Foreign Ministry's "Unit for the Protection of Italians Abroad" will be in contact with the family to confirm any action in view of resuming the search in the mountains.
