ARTILLERY KASERNE, Germany - The director of Military Services for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America paid a visit Sept. 10 to U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria - Garmisch, where he greeted the Child and Youth Services team, provided on-site training and presented the CYS facility with a plaque.

During the visit, Brian E. Hill, the director, was able to meet with Phil Merchant, deputy garrison manager for Garmisch, to discuss BGCA initiatives, scholarships, and the ongoing commitment BGCA has made to the U.S. military.

Since 1991, BGCA has provided military-connected youth with access to essential youth development programs, grants, scholarships, and activities - preparing them for the future and giving their families the vital support they need to support the mission readiness of the Armed Forces.

Hill is scheduled to return in February for another visit to Garmisch with BGCA vice president of Military and Outreach Services, Dianely Heredia. As a self-professed "military brat," Heredia, according to Hill, understands how important it is to recognize the contributions and services of military-connected youth.
