Published on October 08, 2026

As inflation continues to push up the cost of goods and services, home and yard projects can quickly become expensive. The City of Grand Prairie offers a Tool Sharing Program that lets residents borrow equipment for free. Helping you save money, free up storage space and reduce waste.

Whether you are making home repairs or hosting a gathering, we have equipment to suit your needs.

Household Repairs: Drills, toolboxes, and basic hand tools.

Yard Maintenance: Pressure washers, law equipment and outdoor care tools.

Event Supplies: Tables, coolers and chairs.

Each checkout includes a copy of the original owner's manual so you can operate tools safely.

How to Borrow:

Eligibility: Open to Grand Prairie residents. Please bring government ID and a recent proof of residency (such as a water or utility bill).

Borrowing Limits: Residents can check out up to four tools at a time for up to three days.

Requirements: A signed liability waiver at checkout.
