Stevenson University's Theatre and Media Performance program premiered its Fall 2026 production, Macbeth: Something Wicked This Way Comes, on Thursday evening, November 5. The sold-out performance welcomed students, faculty, staff, and community members to the Herman and Walter Samuelson Foundation Black Box Theatre.
As the first theatrical production presented in the newly opened Sandra and Malcolm Berman Family Performing Arts Center, the performance marked a significant milestone in the program's history.
About the Production
Inspired by William Shakespeare's Macbeth, the production centers on the witches whose prophecies set Scottish monarch Macbeth on a path of ambition, violence, and destruction. Although the witches never directly command Macbeth to commit murder, they plant possibilities in his mind, revealing the dangerous power of suggestion and the human desire to believe that the future can be known.
The production invites audiences to consider a question that remains remarkably relevant centuries after Shakespeare wrote the play: Do supernatural forces determine our futures, or do they simply reveal what is already within us? Through its exploration of fate, prophecy, and the supernatural, Macbeth: Something Wicked This Way Comes examines the complex relationship between what we believe is destined to happen and the choices we make.
Performance Times and Tickets Tickets are still available for the Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, performances. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
