NFWF Welcomes John A. Tomke as Board Chair

The Board of Directors of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) has elected John A. Tomke to serve as Chair.

A member of the NFWF Board since 2007, Mr. Tomke brings decades of conservation leadership experience to this role.

He previously served as President of Ducks Unlimited from 2002-2005, followed by his tenure as Chairman from 2005-2007. From 2013-2022, he also served as Chairman of Ducks Unlimited de Mexico. Mr. Tomke currently serves on the boards of Wetlands America Trust, Ducks Unlimited Inc., and Ducks Unlimited de Mexico. He is a member of the Boone and Crockett Club and serves on the Board of the Boone and Crockett Foundation.

In March 2010, Mr. Tomke was appointed Chair of the federal Wildlife and Hunting Heritage Conservation Council, where he served for six years. He has also been active in 4 H programs, including service on one of their boards.

Mr. Tomke retired in 2004 as Vice-President of Global Operations for Dow AgroSciences after a 35 year career, during which he held management positions in Indiana, Michigan, California and South America. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and resides with his wife in Carmel, Indiana.

Chartered by Congress in 1984, NFWF has grown to become the nation's largest conservation foundation. Since its founding, NFWF has funded more than 23,300 projects that have generated a total conservation impact of $11.3 billion.
