Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai Celebrates the Lantern Festival with Students Who Studied in China from the Consular District

On the evening of March 3, the Lantern Festival, Consul General Mr. Qin Jie, Deputy Consul General Ms. Wang Awei, young representatives of the Consulate General, and 15 students who had studied in China from the consular district gathered to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

Mr. Qin said the Lantern Festival is an important traditional Chinese festival with a long history, symbolizing reunion and happiness. This year, the Lantern Festival coincides with the Indian festival of Holi, and he extended his wishes for a happy Lantern and Holi Festival to everyone. He encouraged the attendees to continue spreading Chinese culture and serve as bridges for friendly exchanges between the Chinese and Indian peoples.

Together, they made tangyuan (sweet dumplings), solved lantern riddles, savored delicious food, reminisced about their wonderful experiences in China, and jointly wished for ever-improving relations between China and India.
