Three new advisers - Mindaugas Pakštys, Indrė Vareikytė and Kęstutis Kvaraciejus joined the political team of Minister of Finance Kristupas Vaitiekūnas.
M. Pakštys who held the position of Adviser to the Minister within the previous Government, since 1 October 2025 continuous his work in the fields of cooperation with international financial institutions and development of the national development bank. He started his career in the Ministry of Finance, afterwards worked for various international institutions. He performed duties at the European Stability Mechanism, where he was responsible for corporate governance and internal policy issues, headed audit groups at the European Court of Auditors, was the Advisor to the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
M. Pakštys holds a Master's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Vilnius University and completed postgraduate sustainable finance courses in the University of Luxembourg.
The communication is enhanced with I. Vareikytė, who with 22 years of experience in EU policy, strategic communication, international relations and non-governmental organisations policymaking joined the advisers' team to the Minister of Finance on 8 October 2025. I. Vareikytė held the position of Adviser to the Minister of National Defence, worked in the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, was the Adviser to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for EU communication issues, headed the donations portal Aukok.lt.
I. Vareikytė has a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Pedagogy from Vytautas Magnus University and acquired the qualification of journalism and modern media at the Lithuanian Journalism Centre.
K. Kvarciejus specialises in financial markets, auditing and taxation. He took the position of Adviser to the Minister of Finance on 3 October 2025. He is an expert in the strategic management of organisational processes with over twenty years of professional experience in the public and private sectors. In recent years, he has been working as internal auditor for Klaipėdos paslaugos UAB, also held leadership positions in private companies, gave lectures at the College of Applied Social Sciences, Department of Strategic Management.
K. Kvarciejus holds a Master's degree in Public Sector Strategic Management and Bachelor's degree in Law and Police Activities from Mykolas Romeris University.
We would like to note that on 30 September 2025 the Minister of Finance signed the orders appointing Vice-Ministers - Darius Sadeckas and Januš Kizenevič who held these positions hitherto, Chancellor - Mindaugas Šima, Advisers - Aloyzas Vitkauskas and Dalius Simėnas.
