AdventHealth Dade City expands access to advanced digestive care with newly renovated endoscopy suite

DADE CITY, Fla. - AdventHealth Dade City physicians and leaders celebrated the opening of a newly renovated Endoscopy Suite with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 10.

The event marked AdventHealth's continuing investment in advanced digestive care for patients in east Pasco County.

"At AdventHealth, we believe every person deserves access to leading-edge technology, skilled physicians and compassionate care close to home," said William Villegas, CEO of AdventHealth Dade City. "This new Endoscopy Suite reflects the dedication of our physicians, clinical teams and project leaders who made this vision possible. Together, we're strengthening access to specialized digestive care for the communities we serve."

The redesigned suite features dedicated endoscopy and bronchoscopy procedure rooms, expanded clinical support areas, modern nursing workspaces, and enhanced equipment and supply areas that improve efficiency and the overall care experience.

A key enhancement is the addition of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the bile ducts, pancreas and gallbladder. Previously, many patients requiring this specialized procedure had to travel outside the area for care.

"As a gastroenterologist, I am especially excited about what this renovation means for patients," said Dr. Thomas John. "The addition of ERCP allows us to provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in an environment designed to support patient safety, comfort and clinical excellence, giving more patients access to specialized care in Dade City."

The expanded suite also supports patients receiving bariatric care by providing advanced endoscopic services before and after surgery.

"Digestive health plays an important role in overall wellness. This new space strengthens the continuum of care by supporting earlier diagnosis, better treatment planning and greater collaboration among physicians, allowing our patients to receive more comprehensive care," said Dr. Naga Thatimatla, bariatric surgeon at AdventHealth Dade City.
