Vindman Statement on Death of Virginia Student in Shooting at Brown University

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) today released the following statement regarding the tragic shooting at Brown University that claimed the life of Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, a young Virginian:

"I am devastated by the loss of a bright young Virginian in this week's shooting at Brown University.

"Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, a graduate of Midlothian High School, was deeply loved by his family and friends. Cindy and I cannot begin to imagine the pain they are carrying.

"We owe it to his memory, and to every family shattered by gun violence, to do better. Our communities should not have to live in fear. Congress must act."
