Department of Public Safety training exercise on campus Feb. 5

The university's Department of Public Safety will conduct a training exercise from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.

This is a planned training event to strengthen campus coordination and emergency response procedures. Campus operations will continue as normal and minimal disruptions are expected.

The exercise will take place in a limited area around a laboratory on the east side of campus. Posted signs will mark the exercise space.

This in the area during the exercise may notice:

  • Department of Public Safety and other university personnel conducting training activities
  • Individuals acting as role-players and staff moving between locations
  • "Public Safety Training in Progress" signs marking the exercise area

Those on campus during the training are asked to:

  • Follow posted signs and any directions from Department of Public Safety staff
  • Avoid entering marked exercise areas
  • Continue normal activities
