MONROE - On October 20, 2026, a federal jury found Anfernee A. Rone, 30, of West Monroe, guilty of Distributing a Controlled Substance after a two-day trial before United States District Judge David C. Joseph. Rone faces a minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison at his sentencing, which is set for January 19, 2027, before Judge Joseph.
Evidence presented at trial involved a controlled narcotics sale in West Monroe. Rone, who had been under investigation, sold approximately one-half of a kilogram of methamphetamine to a confidential informant. On September 11, 2025, the informant arranged and completed the purchase from Rone at a West Monroe-area store while law enforcement officers surveilled the deal and Rone's residence. Through that surveillance, law enforcement saw Rone leave his residence carrying a plastic bag that contained a large object before traveling to the meeting location. Rone then sold the methamphetamine to the informant who was wearing surveillance equipment.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller for the Western District of Louisiana made the announcement.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, Monroe Police Department, and West Monroe Police Department investigated this case. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Cheyenne Y. Wilson and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Charlotte Farshian with assistance from Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan.
