Marion County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers within the Silver Springs community to allow for repairs to a main water line.
Customers are also advised to bring water intended for consumption to a rapid boil for at least one minute until this precautionary notice is lifted. As an alternative, bottled water may be used for these purposes, which include drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth.
Water used for laundry, bathing, and/or showering does not need to be boiled.
Utilities has performed water testing per regulations from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and will advise the above-listed customers once this boil water notice is lifted.
Though our customers are being notified via emails, interactive community calls, media release, and/or social media, we urge our customers to contact our customer service team at 352-307-6000 during regular business hours to verify their account phone number is accurate.
