Canadian bond market holds strong amid record AI investment

Technology companies' growing investment in AI infrastructure is helping drive record activity in Canada's bond market, as companies raise billions of dollars to fund data centres.

The Logic reports that the trend is bringing more investment opportunities and increasing market activity, but some observers are watching to see whether investor demand will be able to keep up with the sector's growing need for funding.

Partner and co-head of the firm's Capital Markets practice David Seville told The Logic in an interview that the Canadian market has proven resilient so far, weathering tariff threats and the war in Iran.

"Lots of deal activity is a very positive thing," he said.

"The Canadian market being elevated on investors' radars, that's a good thing."
