Gilbert, Ariz. - With election deadlines arriving earlier than usual this year, Gilbert residents are encouraged to ensure they are registered to vote by June 22.
Due to recent changes in Arizona law, the Primary Election has moved from August 4 to July 21, 2026. As a result, voter registration and early voting deadlines are also occurring earlier than in previous elections.
This year's Primary Election will determine who fills four open seats on the Gilbert Town Council. The offices for the following seats are up for Election in 2026:
Important Election Dates
June 22 | Last day to register to vote in the Primary Election. To vote in the Primary Election, residents must be registered with Maricopa County Elections by June 22, 2026. Voter registration forms may also be obtained from theMaricopa County Recorder Voter Registration.
June 24 | Early voting begins
July 10 | Last day to request an early ballot by mail
July 14 | Last day to mail back your ballot
July 21 | Primary Election Day
Voting Options
Early Voting by Mail: Registered voters may request a ballot by mail, by phone, or through the Maricopa County Electionswebsite.
Phone requests for ballots may be made by contacting Maricopa County Elections at (602) 506-1511. Persons requesting a ballot over the phone need to provide their name and address, date of birth, and voter identification number (if available).
Electronic requests may be made through theMaricopa County Recorder Early Voting.
Early Voting in Person: Persons who wish to cast an early ballot may do so beginning June 24, 2026. A list of early voting sites may be obtained from theMaricopa County Recorder Where To Vote Webpage.
In Person on Election Day: Polls will be open on Election Day, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Persons in line at 7:00 p.m. will be permitted to cast a ballot.
