LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) joined thousands of community members and leaders at YMCA-Los Angeles' 55th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Brotherhood Breakfast. This annual event celebrates the legacy of Dr. King and honors notable community members that have worked towards fulfilling his dream of equal opportunity and treatment for all Americans.

"Dr. King's legacy is one of deep service to community and the relentless pursuit of justice through incredible adversity. I'll continue to reflect on his legacy as a guiding light as we work in Congress to build a more just and fair America for everyone." said U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30). "Today and every day, I hope we can all continue to be inspired by Dr. King's unyielding moral convictions as we fight for a better future."

In both the California Assembly and in Congress, Friedman has led her colleagues in combatting discrimination and hate, like when the Coast Guard recently proposedto downgrade the swastika and noose from hate symbols to "potentially divisive".
