On April 17, a delegation led by the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Moscow, Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the visit, participation took place in the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States with the participation of Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on pressing issues of the global and regional agenda, and prospects for developing cooperation within the CIS were discussed. Following the meeting, a number of documents aimed at social development, education and humanitarian spheres, improvement of the legal framework, and strengthening interagency cooperation were signed.
Particular attention was paid to trade and economic relations, including "green" energy, environmental issues, and strengthening regional security in the context of modern geopolitical conditions.
On the same day, the Minister met with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. During the talks, issues of developing strategic partnership and alliance, implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as cooperation in trade, investment, industry, education, innovation, infrastructure and interregional cooperation were discussed.
An expanded meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and a meeting in the "Central Asia + Russia" format were also held. During the discussions, issues of expanding multilateral cooperation, developing economic relations, implementing joint projects, environmental issues, rational use of water resources and strengthening regional security were considered.
The sides discussed preparations for the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting scheduled for October in Turkmenistan and adopted 10 decisions aimed at strengthening multilateral partnership.
Bakhtiyor Saidov participated in the meetings held in Moscow, including the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the "Central Asia + Russia" format. A constructive exchange of views took place on expanding multilateral cooperation, ensuring regional security and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
