Transit Alert: 1-South Iowa City, 2-Court Street, 9-Towncrest to detour week of Oct. 12
Beginning Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, three Iowa City Transit routes will detour due to the eastbound lane closure on Washington Street between Clinton Street and Dubuque Street.
The outbound 1-South Iowa City, 2- Court Street, and 9-Towncrest will detour Washington Street to Clinton Street to Burlington Street.
Two stops will not be serviced during this detour:
- Washington Street at Linn Street (stop 7200)
- Washington Street at Gilbert Street (stop 7201)
The lane closure will facilitate work on a sanitary sewer service line in the area.
Normal transit service is expected to resume on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026.
