  • Activities include youth games, refreshments, and family activities. The event is open to the public.

A soccer mini-pitch is a small, enclosed soccer field specifically designed for fast-paced, small-sided games. It provides a safe and accessible space for children and families to play, learn, and grow.

The soccer mini-pitch was constructed on one of the underutilized tennis courts at Grant Park. The second tennis court at the park is undergoing surface repairs and will re-open for tennis in the spring.

The construction of the mini-pitch and its lighting system are funded by Hope Soccer, with sponsorships they received from from ICCU and Musco Lighting.

This project reflects the shared mission of both organizations to promote physical activity, teamwork, and inclusion within the community.

"This partnership shows what's possible when public and nonprofit sectors come together for our youth," said Gabriel Mwamba, president of Hope Soccer 2026. "We are incredibly grateful to Parks & Recreation for their trust and commitment, and to our sponsors and volunteers whose generosity made this field a reality."

"We're excited to collaborate with Hope Soccer to provide this positive activation for community members to engage in healthy recreation," said Parks & Recreation director Garrett Jones.
