(Harrisburg, Pa., July 23, 2026) - Yesterday, U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Pennsylvania State Director Chris Hoffman participated in a dedication ceremony for the Jim Thorpe Public Works Garage.
State Director Hoffman said, "It is truly a pleasure to be here today to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and partnership that made the Jim Thorpe Borough Public Works Garage project a reality. We are honored to support communities like Jim Thorpe-communities that plan carefully, work collaboratively, and approach projects with a high standard of professionalism. Their commitment shows in every phase of this effort."
This Rural Development investment is comprised of $4 million in Community Facilities program funding which will be used to construct a new public works garage. The garage will be 22,500 square feet and will provide indoor storage for equipment, space for vehicle and equipment maintenance, a safer location outside of city limits, and room to accommodate future expansion.
