Cedars-Sinai Neurosurgeons Available for Interviews at CNS 2025

At the 75thCongress of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting Oct. 11-15 in Los Angeles, more than a dozen neurosurgical experts from Cedars-Sinai will be on hand to present research and discuss patient care with colleagues from around the world.

Cedars-Sinai experts will be available for media interviews during and after the meeting. Their presentations cover surgical treatment of conditions ranging from ischemic stroke and epilepsy to Parkinson's disease, brain and skull base tumors, and spinal pain and deformities.

Michael Alexander, MD, vice chair of Neurosurgery, can discuss the latest information on ischemic stroke indications, devices and new technology. His research interests also include brain aneurysm and atherosclerotic disease.

David Bonda, MD, assistant professor of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's, can discuss precision neurosurgery for epilepsy, a strategy that can help the 30% of pediatric patients whose epilepsy is not controlled by medication.

Tiffany Perry, MD, associate professor of Neurosurgery and co-director of Spine Oncology, can discuss innovative technology in spine surgery. Her research focuses on mechanisms of treatment for spinal disc-related low back pain, and she also treats complex spinal disorders and spinal tumors.

David Skaggs, MD, executive vice chair of the Department of Orthopaedics at Cedars-Sinai, co-director of the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center, and director of Pediatric Orthopaedics in Guerin Children's, will share new work on robotic-assisted treatment of young athletes' fractured spines. He has pioneered widely adopted pediatric surgical techniques and spinal implant systems for children with spinal deformities and trauma.

Alexander Tuchman, MD, assistant professor of Neurosurgery and co-director of the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center, will direct a symposium on spinal deformity. He treats rare spinal conditions such as achondroplasia, as well as sagittal plane deformities and flatback syndrome.

Corey Walker, MD, assistant professor of Neurosurgery, is an expert in surgical and postoperative management of spinal trauma. He specializes in using minimally invasive techniques that improve patient outcomes.

John Yu, MD, professor of Neurosurgery and surgical director of Neuro-Oncology, will present new research on uses of a tumor-targeting fluorescence imaging agent and imaging system in the surgical removal of gliomas and noncancerous tumors of the skull base.
