Lane closures planned on Circle Drive for waterline installation work

Beginning Wednesday, two eastbound lanes on Circle Drive will be closed between I-25 and Janitell Road to allow crews to install a waterline as part of the Circle Drive Bridges project.

The lane closures are expected to remain in place through mid-July, weather and schedule permitting. One eastbound lane will remain open to through traffic. Travelers should plan for additional travel time and expect delays in the area.

Additional traffic impacts include:

  • Closure of the outside left-turn lane from the southbound I-25 off-ramp to eastbound Circle Drive. One left-turn lane will remain open.
  • Closure of the left-turn lane from southbound Janitell Road to eastbound Circle Drive. A signed detour will direct traffic around the closure.

The Circle Drive Bridges project replaced four aging bridge structures originally built in 1963 and is improving long-term safety, mobility and multimodal access along one of the city's key transportation corridors. Construction activities will continue throughout the project area, and travelers should expect periodic lane shifts, traffic pattern changes and ongoing construction operations.
