The Sparks City Attorney's Office has announced that its prosecutor secured a conviction for Miguel Jimenez, convicted of one count of Domestic Violence stemming from an incident that occurred on December 25, 2025.
On December 25, 2025, Officers were dispatched to a home in Sparks, Nevada, on the report of a family disturbance. The reporting party stated she was trying to pick up her daughter when the child's father, Miguel JIMENEZ, shoved her and punched her lip.
The victim arrived at the residence to pick up their child in common from JIMENEZ, with whom she had been in an ongoing relationship for approximately three years. The victim asked JIMENEZ to watch their child since she had to work. When she got off work, she asked JIMENEZ where their child was, since the child was not at the location JIMENEZ had initially stated. JIMENEZ stated they were at his sister's house, which upset her because she does not get along with JIMENEZ's family.
The victim parked her vehicle in front of the house, and JIMENEZ exited the residence with their child. A verbal argument occurred because the victim asked JIMENEZ why he was grabbing a bag that she did not use for their child. JIMENEZ began talking back to the victim, escalating the altercation.
Their child was sitting in the right rear passenger seat, and the vehicle door was closed. JIMENEZ stated to the victim that he wanted to say goodbye to their daughter, but the victim did not want JIMENEZ in her car and denied him access. This is when, according to the victim JIMENEZ grabbed her and shoved her to the ground. She stated she fell on their child's blanket and bag and felt a burning sensation on her face, and doesn't remember if she was slapped or punched by JIMENEZ. The victim had a fresh vertical laceration on her lip with dried blood. She was also wearing makeup and officers observed a portion of her makeup had been removed on the right side of her cheek.
JIMENEZ stated this was a constant issue between him and the victim, and upon her arrival, she had been "talking shit to him" by calling him a "deadbeat." JIMENEZ handed their daughter to the victim and then went to his truck to retrieve a blanket and a bag. JIMENEZ claimed the victim attempted to close the door on him when he was trying to say goodbye to their child. JIMENEZ admitted pushing the victim with one hand to prevent her from closing the door on him. JIMENEZ claimed the victim did not fall to the ground and denied touching her face.
JIMENEZ was arrested because of his admission of pushing the victim and due to the victim's injury to her lip.
