RIVERSIDE, CA - The Riverside Police Department is now accepting applications for the Fall Session Citizen Academy. The Fall Session begins on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and continues weekly until November 16, 2017. Recruitment will remain open through August 31, 2017.

The Citizen Academy provides the public with a basic insight into how police personnel operate and perform their daily duties. All sessions are in a classroom setting and no physical training will take place. Sessions will be held at the Riverside Police Department Magnolia Station Community Room, located at 10540 Magnolia Avenue. However, the session location may vary depending on that week's lesson, but advance notice will be given to all students.

Class size is limited to 40 students, on a first come, first serve basis. All applicants must either live, work or attend school in the City of Riverside to be eligible to participate, and must be able to pass a minimal background check.

Only online applications will be accepted, which is made available on the Riverside Police Department's website.
