Gainesville, Ga. - U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering funds to build new affordable housing for North Georgia families.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver Federal funding to Habitat for Humanity of Hall County, which plans to build a new home development in the City of Gainesville. The Federal funding will enable Habitat to complete the surveying and water sources for each home and build the first three homes in the development.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering $1,005,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.
"Georgia families urgently need more affordable housing. That's why I brought Republicans and Democrats together to help build new housing units for families in Hall County," Sen. Ossoff said.
"This appropriation is a transformative investment in affordable housing for Hall County. It will allow Habitat for Humanity of Hall County to accelerate the development of safe, stable homes for families who need them most. We witness every day how a home can change the entire trajectory of a family's life," said Lila Weaver, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Hall County. "This support allows us to bring that life-changing opportunity to even more of our neighbors, and we are profoundly grateful for this funding which will significantly expand our impact and assist us in building a stronger, more resilient community. This project would not have been possible without the care, responsiveness, and professionalism shown throughout the appropriations process. We are sincerely appreciative of the efforts from Jon Ossoff and his entire staff that helped ensure our community's needs were heard and supported."
