How does Campbell's support recycling and/or biodegradable materials?
Like you, we know that the small choices we make, such as the packaging we use, can make a big difference over time. Across our brands, we are working to make our packaging more sustainable. For example, we removed mixed-material layers that prevented recycling from 38oz and 45oz Prego PET bottles in October 2024, making over 31 million bottles recyclable in 2025. We also redesigned Prego jar openings across 4 million jars and steel closures, saving 62K and 7K pounds of glass and metal, respectively, since May 2025. In addition, as part of our commitment to transparency, Campbell's continues to use How2Recycle labeling to help consumers make informed decisions about how to responsibly dispose of our packaging.

Does the packaging of your food contain BPA?
Does the packaging of your food contain BPA?
We use non-BPA lining in all our aluminum and steel cans throughout our operations in North America. PET bottles, pouches and cartons- such as those used for V8 beverages, Swanson broths and Campbell's sauces- are (and have always been) non-BPA packaging. The containers of a few other products have metal components with limited food contact points, but are key to ensuring lids remain tight. BPA is used as a coating on that metal but in small amounts. Although the FDA has determined that BPA is safe to use in food packaging, we understand that some people would prefer to avoid it, and we continue to work on packaging alternatives.
