BABELAND AND BEDSIDER JOIN FORCES

(NEW YORK, USA) - Leading sexual wellness retailer Babeland and trusted reproductive health resource Bedsider have announced a new partnership aimed at tackling one of the fastest-growing problems in sexual health today: the spread of misinformation across social media.

As more young people turn to platforms like TikTok and Instagram for answers about contraception, fertility, safer sex, and pleasure, they're often met with advice that is misleading, incomplete, or rooted in stigma. Together, Bedsider and Babeland are launching a new awareness campaign designed to push back against these viral myths and replace them with clear, medically accurate information people can actually trust.

Built on a shared commitment to pleasure-positive, judgment-free education, the campaign will combat some of the most persistent false claims circulating online about birth control, sexual health, and fertility. Through accessible content and expert guidance, this partnership aims to debunk misinformation and help people navigate their sexual health with confidence.

According to Power to Decide's 2025 Youth Reproductive Health (YouR HeAlth) Survey, more than 20% of young people reported getting information about birth control from social media in the past year. Among those respondents, the most common platforms were TikTok (43.4%), Instagram (29.6%), and YouTube (19.3%).

Yet despite the volume of content available online, many people still lack the information they need to make informed decisions. The same survey found that one-third of young people don't feel they have enough information to decide which birth control method is right for them, and fewer than half say they feel completely confident they could start or switch methods. When asked true-or-false questions about common misconceptions about contraception, respondents answered an average of five out of eleven questions correctly.

Babeland's Sex Expert, Lisa Finn, commented on the partnership. She said: "While it's incredible to see more people talking openly about sexual health and pleasure, more content doesn't always mean better information. When social media becomes the main resource for info, it can turn into a game of telephone - where details get lost, skewed, or even become dangerously wrong as they are passed along.

We're so excited to be teaming up with Bedsider to make sure that information about pleasure, sexual health, birth control, and our bodies is rooted in facts, accessibility, and inclusivity - not opinions, rumors, or shame."

Power to Decide's Senior Director of Health Care, Joely Pritzker, MC, FNP-C, said: "Social media is increasingly the first place people turn for sexual and reproductive health information-making it critical to combat misinformation and expand access to accurate, trusted resources. At the same time, we know young people also want that information to come from sources they trust. Through our partnership with Babeland, we're meeting more people where they are with person-centered resources and tools that empower them to confidently take control of their sexual health."

By combining Bedsider's trusted reproductive health expertise with Babeland's decades-long leadership in sex-positive education and retail, the partnership aims to reach audiences who may not be receiving comprehensive sex education elsewhere.
Together, the two organizations hope to make accurate sexual health information easier to find, easier to understand, and harder for misinformation to drown out.

At a time when people are often making major health decisions based on content they scroll past in seconds, this initiative seeks to shift the conversation, amplifying credible voices and ensuring that evidence-based sex information gets the visibility it deserves both online and offline.
