The Foundation for Enhancing Communities Welcomes Kim Alvarez as Vice President of Philanthropy

Expanding its capacity to support charitable giving and nonprofit capacity across south central Pennsylvania, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) has named Kim Alvarez vice president of philanthropy.

Alvarez brings more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership to TFEC, helping donors and organizations turn generosity into lasting community impact. In her role, Alvarez leads TFEC's Philanthropy Team and works closely with donors, professional advisors and nonprofit partners to grow local giving. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, and thoughtful planning, supporting donors and professional advisors as they align charitable goals with long-term financial and estate plans.

"Kim brings a deep understanding of philanthropy and a strong commitment to building trust," said Jennifer Doyle, president and CEO of TFEC. "Her leadership strengthens our ability to provide personalized guidance, timely support and thoughtful planning for donors at every stage of their giving journey, while helping nonprofits build long-term sustainability."

In her role, Alvarez works to strengthen TFEC's philanthropy by building trusted relationships with the professional advisor community, and most importantly, prospective and current donors to help achieve their charitable goals. She supports individuals and families in establishing charitable funds, partners with fundholders as their giving evolves, and identifies new opportunities to grow philanthropic resources that respond to community needs.

For nonprofits, Alvarez's leadership supports increased access to funding, stronger donor relationships and clearer pathways to long-term financial stability. By aligning donor interests with community priorities, TFEC helps nonprofits focus on their missions while building sustainable support.

"Philanthropy works best when it is personal, informed and rooted in community," Alvarez said. "I'm excited to help donors and nonprofits work together to create solutions that make a real difference where people live and work."

Alvarez's addition reflects TFEC's continued commitment to strengthening philanthropy across Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon and Perry Counties, as well as the Dillsburg, PA area, through investments in people, relationships and systems. Her leadership ensures TFEC is well positioned to support more complex philanthropic planning, including long-term and legacy giving, while honoring donor intent and responsible stewardship.
