Notable Trends

  • Three aggravated assaults reported this week with one still an open investigation. In one case, officers arrested the suspect after he punched the victim multiple times and covered their nose and mouth. In the other case, the suspect punched and choked the victim and threw property all over the house. He fled prior to police arrival and charges were referred to the prosecutor.
  • Two rapes reported that are both open investigations. The victim knew the suspect in one case. In the other, an officer picked up a SANE kit from the hospital.
  • All three commercial burglaries reported are open investigations.
  • Four residential burglaries reported. Officers arrested the suspect in one that was a violation of a no contact order. A bike was stolen from the victim's garage in another. In another case, the victim returned home to find a woman inside looking through his wallet. His house keys had been stolen in a previous theft incident, but it's unknown how she would have located the victim's home. In the last case, personal documents and a security camera were stolen from the kitchen area.
  • Six vehicle prowls reported. Some of the property stolen includes a laptop, tools, batteries and chargers, clothing, backpacks and a diaper bag. Three had windows shattered, one was unsecured, one unknown entry and the property was stolen out of the back of a truck in one.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 994 calls for service this week.
  • I am out of the office most of next week for a board meeting so there might not be an update, and I'll double up the following week.
  • In this week's photo, we celebrated the Oath of Office and Basic Law Enforcement Academy graduation for our newest officers, Officers Ganzorig, Sotolongo and Sawyer. Congratulations and welcome to the team!
