NYK has recently published the NYK Group's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data for fiscal year 2025 on its website.
Environmental Data
NYK calculates Group GHG emissions across all Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 categories defined under the GHG Protocol, the internationally recognized standard for GHG accounting and reporting. By establishing information collected from major consolidated subsidiaries in Japan and overseas, as well as certain equity-method affiliates.
In addition, from fiscal year 2025, NYK has newly disclosed its Group GHG accounting principles as part of its sustainability disclosures. The policy outlines key elements of the Group's methodology, including the companies covered, applicable GHGs, calculation methods for each scope, and the treatment of biofuels. By establishing this policy, NYK has enhanced the accuracy and transparency of its Group GHG emissions reporting framework.
Since fiscal year 2011, an independent third-party assurance provider has verified NYK's collected emissions data. For fiscal year 2025, NYK has again obtained third-party assurance confirming that the Group's GHG emissions were measured and calculated appropriately.
The NYK Group will continue to aggregate and analyze emissions data on an ongoing basis while advancing initiatives for more effective GHG emissions reductions.
