It's time to register your school for the 2026-2027 Juvenes Translatores contest for young translators.

You can register from 1 September (12:00 Brussels time) to 12 October 2026 (23:59 Brussels time).

What is Juvenes Translatores?

The Juvenes Translatores contest encourages young people to learn foreign languages. Since its launch in 2007, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation has organised the contest every year for 17-year-old secondary school students across the EU. The 2026-2027 edition marks 20 years of celebrating young translators and Europe's rich linguistic diversity.

Every November, on contest day, more than 3000 teenagers translate a page of creative writing from one of the EU's 24 official languages into another. In total, 552 language pairs are available.
