Construction Update for Gold Country Corridor

Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.

Here is the breakdown for next week:

SR 49 Projects:

  • Corridor Improvement Project between McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows/Allison Ranch Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, August 16 to 6 a.m. Monday, August 17 and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, August 17 through Thursday, August 20. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, August 21.
  • Sidewalk Gap Closure Project southbound between Edgewood Road and Nevada Street, various lane closures are scheduled from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21.

SR 20 Projects:

  • Pavement Rehabilitation Project
    • Between Dow Road and Harmony Ridge Road, various one-way traffic control is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18.
    • Between Shake Hills Road and Chalk Bluff Road, various one-way traffic control is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20. Work is also scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon Friday, August 21.
  • Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project at the junction with Interstate 80 (I-80), the SR 20 on-ramp to westbound I-80 remains closed until further notice due to bridge construction activities. Motorists will detour along eastbound I-80 to the Eagle Lakes exit and return westbound on I-80.

The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
