This month, the Metro Council Office is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its official social media presence, marking a successful year of improved communication and community engagement. In addition to this milestone, the Metro Council Office is pleased to announce the launch of its new Bluesky account and a series of website updates reflecting the ongoing efforts of the Metro Council Office, the Metro Council, and Vice Mayor Angie E. Henderson to improve accessibility to local government, increase trust and transparency, and encourage community awareness of the Council's work.
"These communication tools are helping us meet residents where they are," said Vice Mayor Henderson. "Whether online, on social media, or in person, we're committed to making Metro Council information easier to find and understand. We want residents to have the tools they need to stay informed and engaged with their local government."
Since the establishment of the Metro Council's social media accounts in 2024, the Office has prioritized transparent and timely communication with the public. The addition of the Bluesky platform continues that effort, providing another avenue for residents to access official Council information and updates.
The Metro Council website has been recently redesigned to streamline how residents access information. Previously, visitors needed to navigate multiple pages to find district and Council Member information. The new design brings this information together in one place, making it easier for residents to connect with their Council Members and learn about their districts. Individual Council Member pages now contain biographical information, a calendar of upcoming community meetings, a map of the district, and related demographic information.
