Belarusian-Uzbek inter-ministerial consultations on consular issues

On 8 June 2026, the first Belarusian-Uzbek inter-ministerial consultations on consular issues took place in Minsk at the level of deputy foreign ministers.

The Belarusian delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, and the Uzbek delegation by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olimjon Abdullaev.

The consultations were also attended by representatives of the Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, and the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues relating to consular cooperation, labour migration and the expansion of the legal framework.

The consultations took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, serving as further confirmation of the close cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan in various areas of mutual interest.
