Cassidy Announces $34.8 Million for Louisiana Disaster Recovery, Safer Roads, Economic Development
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive a combined $34,795,662.15 in new federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Delta Regional Authority (DRA).
The FEMA funding, totaling $34,358,062.15, will support disaster recovery and emergency preparedness tied to Hurricanes Laura and Ida, the 2016 floods, and Hurricane Francine. The DRA funding, totaling $437,600.00 from Cassidy's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), will support strategic planning for infrastructure and economic development.
"Building a better Louisiana starts with hurricane preparedness, stronger infrastructure, and smart planning," said Dr. Cassidy. "This funding will help us rebuild after disasters, prepare for future emergencies, make our roads safer, and boost local economies."
