Pedestrian Dies Following Crash in Centennial Neighborhood

A pedestrian has died following a crash in the Centennial Neighborhood.

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 5:15 a.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct responded to a welfare check in the area of Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. When they arrived, officers located an adult female, later identified as 48-year-old Lisa L. Straine, with serious injuries. Straine was transported to an area hospital for care. Through the course of the investigation, officers determined Straine had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Officers have since identified and interviewed the driver.
On the morning of Saturday, August 22, 2026, the Medical Examiner contacted PPB to report that Straine had died as a result of her injuries.
The case has been referred to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review. Anyone with information about this case, who has not talked with police, is asked to contact [email protected] attn: Traffic Division and reference case number 26-231689.
