Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia with the UNDP Administrator

On March 13, in New York, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan met with Alexander De Croo, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The interlocutors commended the productive cooperation between Armenia and UNDP, highlighting the Country Programme Document (CPD) for 2026-2030, adopted through the joint efforts of the Government of Armenia and the UNDP Office in Armenia. In this vein, the necessity of capacity building in Armenia was emphasized in order to further enhance the effectiveness of future project implementation.

The parties also exchanged views on the UN80 reform process, highlighting its importance in fostering a more efficient, coordinated and results-oriented performance of the Organization.

During the meeting, the ongoing preparations for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be hosted by Armenia, were touched upon and the vision of Armenia for the Conference was presented. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of the engagement of UNDP in climate and biodiversity issues.
