Foreign Secretary Roberto Velasco Concludes Visit to Washington, D.C.

As part of his visit to Washington, D.C., Foreign Secretary Roberto Velasco Álvarez met with U.S. government officials to advance priority issues on the bilateral agenda, including innovation, emerging technologies, the protection of Mexican nationals, and human mobility.

Secretary Velasco met with Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg, with whom he discussed opportunities for collaboration on innovation, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and supply chains.

He then met with Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Troy Edgar. Secretary Velasco underscored the importance the Mexican government places on addressing cases involving the deaths of Mexican nationals and preventing further such incidents. Both officials also discussed bilateral cooperation to manage migration flows.
