SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Equality California, the nation's largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, today announced the endorsements of thirteen candidates - including twelve who are openly LGBTQ+ - running for state and local offices, the organization's last round of endorsements ahead of the 2026 California Primary Election on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
"While there are critical races to be won in Washington and Sacramento, the fact of the matter is the decisions with the biggest impact on LGBTQ+ Californians happen at the local level," said Executive Director Tony Hoang. "Whether it's the city council chamber, the board of education office, or the county municipal building, it's important our community have a voice and a presence in the rooms where consequential decisions are being made. We are proud to continue elevating LGBTQ+ candidates and pro-equality allies who will fight to defend our right to be treated with dignity and respect."
