The one-hour poetry reading at the Brooks Camp auditorium begins at 7 pm on July 31, 2026. No reservations are needed. The free workshops and readings focus on nature and national parks.

"This is an amazing opportunity to explore poetry and national parks," said Katmai National Park Superintendent Mark Sturm "and to forge deeper connections between Katmai and the communities of South Naknek, King Salmon, and Naknek."

The poetry workshops and readings are part of Jodie Hollander's ongoing Poetry in the Parks project. Hollander leads sessions focusing on landscape poetry, the poetry of grief and healing, and narrative poetry.
