Major Investment Boosts New Brunswick’s Local Food Network

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (December 19, 2025) - New Brunswick is at the center of a major state-led initiative to ensure no neighborhood is left behind when it comes to healthy food, with several local and regional organizations securing critical funding from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA).

As one of the state's 14 most acute Food Desert Communities (FDCs), New Brunswick is a primary focus of the $30 million Food Equity and Economic Development in New Jersey (FEED NJ) Pilot Program. Across two rounds of funding, 73 organizations have been selected to receive funding to bolster the local network of pantries, farms, and delivery trucks that keep our residents fed.
