Norton Rose Fulbright litigator Steve Dillard (Houston) has been named the 2026 Baylor Lawyer of the Year by Baylor Law School. A room full of guests, including the firm's lawyers - past and present - joined Steve to celebrate this well-deserved honor at a ceremony in Houston on June 4.
The award, which has been presented annually since 1963, honors an outstanding alumnus or alumna who has brought distinction to Baylor Law School and the legal profession. Recipients are selected based on their sustained and meaningful engagement with Baylor Law School, significant contributions to the legal field and a demonstrated commitment to high integrity, legal excellence and civic responsibility.
Steve's distinguished career at Norton Rose Fulbright spans more than five decades, as he led the firm's litigation practice many years. With a broad range of experience in complex commercial litigation and a national practice with numerous trials in multiple jurisdictions, Steve is highly regarded for representing clients in environmental litigation, groundwater contamination cases, chemical exposure and toxic and mass tort cases, including class actions. He earned his BA from Baylor University in 1968 and his JD, cum laude, from Baylor Law School in 1971.
Past recipients of the Baylor Lawyer of the Year include two of the firm's past managing partners, Leon Jaworski and Gibson Gayle, as well as Price Daniel, Bob Bullock, William Sessions and many prominent judges and lawyers.
