OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2025) - The City of Ocala announces the introduction of the O-Line Trolley, a free and convenient service that will provide residents and visitors with a scenic way to explore the heart of downtown.
The soft launch begins Thursday, Sept. 18, with a SunTran bus temporarily running the route to help riders get familiar with the service. The official O-Line Trolley vehicle is scheduled to debut in early 2026.
The service will operate Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 5 to 9 p.m. The full route takes approximately 30 minutes, connecting public parking areas, popular shopping and dining districts and some of Ocala's most treasured landmarks. Riders can board at designated stops or simply wave to the driver to hop on.
Garage One is included on the route, with Garage Two to be added once it opens. The service is designed to make downtown more accessible, eliminate the hassle of finding parking and provide a fun, scenic alternative to driving.
"This is a convenient way to experience everything our historic downtown has to offer," said Tom Duncan, City of Ocala transit administrator. "We're excited to provide a free service that supports local businesses and enhances the visitor experience."
The public is encouraged to try the O-Line Trolley during this soft launch phase, which will help the City fine-tune the service before the full launch in 2026.
