Applications Open for the “62nd EGCO Forest Youth Camp” To Discover Inthanon’s Forest Ecosystem

Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group, and Thai Conservation of Forest Foundation, in collaboration with Doi Inthanon National Park, invites high school and high-school-equivalent students nationwide to participate in an engaging mission to explore and decode nature at the 62nd EGCO Forest Youth Camp. Held under the theme "Nature Decoded at Inthanon Watershed Forest," the camp will take place from 21-27 March 2026, at Doi Inthanon National Park, Chiang Mai. The program aims to raise awareness of natural conservation and promote harmonious coexistence between humans and the environment. Interested applicants are invited to submit an essay or short video clip from now until 23 February 2026, to apply for participation in the youth camp.

Mr. Tawatchai Sumranwanich, EGCO Group's President, said, "EGCO Group is committed to encouraging young people to embrace natural resource and environmental conservation. The company places particular emphasis on youth, recognizing their strong enthusiasm for learning and their important role as the future of the nation. Guided by EGCO Group's belief that "A good start will lead to a successful outcome", the EGCO Forest Youth Camp has been organized continuously for 28 years since 1997. To date, a total of 61 camps have been conducted, engaging more than 3,600 young participants nationwide. In 2026, the 62nd EGCO Forest Youth Camp will offer an opportunity for youth to gain first-hand experience in exploring nature at Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest watershed forest. Renowned for its fertile landscapes and rich biodiversity, the area is home to a wide variety of plant species, wildlife, and local ecosystems. Through this program, youth participants will have the opportunity to learn about the value of watershed forests and understand their vital connection to everyday life. The experience is designed to inspire young people to embrace environmental conservation and adopt environmentally responsible lifestyles as they grow into the next generation."

The 62nd EGCO Forest Youth Camp will welcome 70 youth participants selected from across the country to take part in an immersive nature-based learning program. The journey will begin with a train trip from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Chiang Mai, followed by a seven-day, six-night stay at Doi Inthanon National Park. Throughout the camp, participants will engage in a wide range of experiential learning activities in a natural classroom. These include trekking along the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail, known for its rich geographical, geological, and botanical diversity; exploring the unique freshwater spring ecosystem along the Ang Ka and Yod Doi Nature Trails; and deepening their understanding of forest ecology through activities in the "Six Men's Embrace Forest." In addition to environmental learning, youth participants will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and friendships with peers from across the nation. EGCO Group will fully fund the program, with the exception of transportation costs between participants' hometowns and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.

High school and high-school-equivalent students who are interested in joining the program may apply now until 12:00 hrs. on February 23, 2026. Applicants are required to submit either a one-page, handwritten A4 essay or a two-minute short video (one format only) on the topic "How Nature and I Are Connected."
