Rock Valley College (RVC) has earned two 2026 District 3 Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR), recognizing excellence in community college marketing and communications.

RVC Commnuications & Marketing Team members accept the awards: Heather Kelley, Gabriela Mar-Gaula, and Daniel Whiteside

RVC received a Silver Medallion Award in the Viewbook category for its 2025 RVC Athletics Viewbook and a Bronze Medallion Award in the Special Event or Fundraising Campaign category for the RVC CEO Challenge. Communications and Marketing team members, Gabriela Mar-Gagula, Heather Kelley, and Daniel Whiteside, accepted the awards in person at the NCMPR District 3 Fall Conference held in Madison, Wisconsin, this fall.

The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in community college marketing and communications, celebrating creative and effective projects that advance institutional missions, strengthen community connections, and engage key audiences.

Both award-winning projects reflect the collaborative efforts of RVC's Communications & Marketing team and its campus partners to strengthen the college's brand while highlighting the unique programs and opportunities available to students and the community.

"These awards are a reflection of the creativity, dedication, and collaboration that go into telling Rock Valley College's story," said Jennifer Thompson, RVC executive director for college communications. "Whether we're showcasing the experiences of our student-athletes or engaging community partners through the CEO Challenge, our goal is to collaborate with other areas of the college to create meaningful connections that elevate the college and the people we serve."

The 2025 RVC Athletics Viewbook highlights the college's athletic programs and student-athlete experience through engaging design and storytelling, supporting recruitment efforts and strengthening the identity of RVC Athletics.

The team in the RVC Foundation, led by Chief Development Officer Brittany Freiberg, has created a unique, one-of-a-kind fundraising event through the CEO Challenge. The event demonstrates the power of creative marketing and community engagement to build awareness, encourage participation, and strengthen connections between the college and its supporters. This recognition celebrates and honors the collaborative partnership between RVC Foundation and RVC Marketing.

NCMPR District 3 includes community colleges in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Ontario, Canada.
