Webinar spotlights two decades of economic change in rural Idaho

The Idaho Department of Labor is hosting a webinar focusing on the past 20 years of growth in rural Idaho, Tuesday, Nov. 18.

"Idaho's population has grown three times as fast as the U.S. This webinar will bring together rural voices and community leaders to speak in detail about their experiences as rural residents," Labor Market Research Manager Craig Shaul said.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MT.

Panelists participating in the discussion include Shawn A. Keough (retired), Director Dean L. Cameron with the Idaho Department of Insurance, Director Mary Huff with Owyhee County Community Planning, Executive Director Tammy Stringham with the Lemhi County Economic Development Association and Labor Economist Lisa Grigg with the Idaho Department of Labor.

Information from the 2025 Idaho Rural Profile report will be included in the webinar. This report is a culmination of a year-long project looking at employment, wages and job opportunities, agricultural production and housing stock trends in rural Idaho.

The report will be available later this month at lmi.idaho.gov.
